Myofunctional therapy for Bardstown, KY families
Bardstown is about 35 miles from 502 MYO's office at 8403 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville — roughly a 40-minute drive on the Bluegrass Parkway and I-64. Families from Nelson County and Washington County come to us for myofunctional evaluations and therapy that local dental, ENT, and pediatric offices typically don't offer in-house.

What we help with
502 MYO is a specialty myofunctional therapy practice, not a general dental office. We work on the muscle, posture, and habit side of oral function for both children and adults. The most common reasons Bardstown-area families see us:
- Mouth breathing in children (and the downstream effects on sleep, facial development, and behavior)
- Tongue-tie — pre- and post-frenectomy therapy for infants, kids, and adults
- Pediatric sleep-disordered breathing — snoring, restless sleep, mouth breathing at night, daytime fatigue
- Adult snoring and mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea — as adjunct to CPAP or as an alternative for patients who can't tolerate CPAP
- Habit elimination — thumb sucking, tongue thrust, atypical swallow patterns
- Pre- and post-orthodontic support — coordinated care with orthodontists in Louisville and Bardstown
- TMJ symptoms and clenching/grinding when the underlying driver is muscle posture
What a first visit looks like
The first visit is a 60-minute in-person evaluation at our Louisville office. We map the way your tongue, lips, jaw, and airway are working together, identify the muscle and habit patterns that may be contributing to the concern that brought you in, and write up a clear plan at the end of the visit. You leave knowing exactly what's happening and what (if anything) to do about it.
Most patients come back weekly for therapy sessions of 30-45 minutes. Some Bardstown families batch appointments — one parent drives in for a session, the child stays home, then they switch next week — to reduce driving. We're flexible.
Driving from Bardstown
The most common route is US-62 / Bloomfield Rd east to the Bluegrass Parkway, then north to I-64, then I-64 east to I-264 (Watterson Expressway), then south to Shelbyville Rd. Total drive time is around 40 minutes outside of rush hour. Plan a little more time for the return trip if your appointment ends between 4 and 6 PM.
Our office is on the south side of Shelbyville Rd near the intersection with Lyndon Lane, with plenty of free parking. Get exact directions on our contact page.
Insurance and payment
502 MYO does not bill insurance directly. We provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance carrier for out-of-network reimbursement. Most Bardstown patients pay out of pocket and use HSA or FSA funds. The first evaluation is the most expensive visit; weekly therapy sessions are less.
We don't publish exact prices online because the visit length and complexity can vary. Call or text (502) 901-8089 for current rates, or request an evaluation online to start.
